Gallbladder disease is more common in women but men also suffer from this disease as well. First off where is the gallbladder? Your gallbladder is a small organ right under your liver and its function is to store bile, which helps in the digestion of fat.

Gallbladder disease is when the bile stored inside starts to thicken and then turns into gallstones. Gallstones can cause lots of pain in your gallbladder and inflammation as well. Gallbladder disease can lead to infection, gallstones, sever pain and in worst cases block the gallbladder.

Gallbladder disease can affect anyone, but it can also be hereditary and most commonly occurs in people over 60 years old. Women, especially if overweight, also have high chances of getting gallbladder disease. Men can also suffer from gallbladder disease, but it is less likely, however obesity can also lead to gallbladder disease.

If you have gallstones you should consult with your doctor, but keep in mind that many people can actually live pain free with galls bladder disease. This is because if you avoid the foods that trigger gallbladder attacks and maintain a healthy diet, you can avoid the symptoms of the disease. Foods that make gallbladder disease symptoms worse are for example eggs, milk, caffeine, beans, just to name a few.

What you should include in your diet is omega 3 oil. This is essential because it helps stop the production of cholesterol in bile. There are several available treatments for gallbladder disease. Consult with your doctor to see which is best for you.
